The settlement is located near the highway and commercial development areas.
The project’s first objective is to reconstruct the quality of the micro-urban and domestic landscape.
The quality is in the inside:

• continuous presence of greenery;
• varied, high-quality architecture;
• eco-friendly construction;
• high-quality communal areas;
• services that facilitate daily life;

The target result: a new eco-friendly settlement in Fiano Romano, over an area of approximately 30,000 sq.m., with a potential 10,000 sq.m. of gross developable area, for a total of 100 single-family residential units.

A complete and replicable test
Ecovillae is not a demonstration model, but a concrete, replicable test .
The sustainability approach proposed by the design is based on drawing a distinction between:

• passive technology for energy and resource savings, which considerably improves, at low cost, the basic performance of what is built, by using simple techniques of building set ups and traditional construction methods, that can be appreciated by any user.
• active technology, which converts the building from saving energy to producing it.

Ecovillae is in an advanced design phase. The site will be inaugurated by June 2007.
